As physical storage spaces shrink and digital storage capacities expand, there is a growing need to convert physical media and older formats into digital copies. While many services offer such conversions, they often utilise substandard equipment and compress the resulting digital media, thereby degrading the final product. This degradation means that future generations may not be able to fully appreciate cherished memories. At Goldmaster IT, we specialise in converting a variety of physical formats to high-quality digital media.
Our Archiving Services Include:
CD Archiving:
- Unlike many services that compress audio to MP3, we use Exact Audio Copy (EAC) configured to industry-leading standards.
2. We utilise a variety of disc drives to ensure CDs with minor scratches or dust can be cleaned and successfully archived.
3. Final audio is archived in FLAC format, an uncompressed audio format compatible with any device.
Note: CDs with deep scratches may not be salvageable.
DVD and Blu-ray Archiving:
- We back up DVD and Blu-ray discs to MKV format using MakeMKV, retaining full quality, including subtitle options and metadata.
- This ensures your media devices can access the correct information, unlike many free tools that compress content and lose essential metadata.
